AT THE MARTS.

DEMAND FOR PEARS. l PUMPKINS SELL WELL. GLUT OF GREENS PERSISTS. There was a better inquiry for most ' lines of fruit at the City Markets to-day, the first day of spring perhaps affecting buyers. Hot- . house tomatoes were in short supply, also Californian grapes, of which a fresh shipment is due by the Monterey next Friday. Values for lemons were much easier and there was only a fair inquiry for New Zealand grapefruit and poorman oranges.
