Mr. J. Fletcher left by the Limited ast night for Wellington. Mr. W. A. Boucher was a passenger or Wellington by the Limited last night. Major R. 5. Hunter Blair, of Cantermrv, accompanied by Mrs. Blair, left ast niglit by the Limited for Wellington. Mr. W. J. Broaclfoot, Mr. W. P. Endean likl Mr. F. W. Schrainni, M.P.'s, left for Wellington by the Limited last night. Dr. Malcolm Sargent, the eminent Engish conductor, who has been tilling con•ert engagements at Wellington, will cave Auckland by the Niagara to-niglit 'or Sydney. Mr. E. S. Rca, accountant at Dnnnelirke for the Public Office, has •eceived notice of his. transfer to Auckand. He will be. replaced by Mr. H. F. Mclntyre, of Masterton. The Hon. J. Trevethiek, the Hon. E. R. Davis, the Hon. A. Burns, the Hon. T. Bloodworth, and the Hon. J. Alexander, M.L.C.'s, will be passengers for Wellington on the Limited this evening. Mr. C. W. Rothe, of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company, who has been on a holiday visit to China and Japan, is a through passenger by the Niagara, which will leave for Sydney this evening. Mr. E. D. Moslev, senior stipendiary magistrate in Wellington, will leave on September 4 on a visit to Australia. He will be accompanied by Sirs. Mosley. They expect to return about the middln of October. Dr. F. W. G. White has been offered the position of professor of physics at the Canterbury University College, left vacant by the retirement of Dr. C. Coleridge Fair. Dr. White has for the past three years been a part-time lecturer at the London Polytechnic. If Dr. White does not wish to accept the post it will be offered to Dr. R. G. J. Fraser, of the physical chemistry laboratory at Cambridge.
