-MISS NIPPON BECOMES CAS CONSCIOUS.—A remarkable scene in Tokyo recently, rvhen hundreds of Japanese schoolgirls paraded through the city in gas masks. In the centre background, wearing a round helmet, is an army instructor, who teaches the girls the correct method of adjusting the masks in the minimum amount of time. All over the country a drive is in progress to prepare the Japanese for any eventuality—especially hostile air raids.
