"FORCED OFF LINE."
SLIP STRIKES LOCOMOTIVE? NEW VERSION OF MISHAP. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. A. B. Wallace, a Chriatcliurch commercial traveller, who was in the first carriage, said he considered the nature of the accident saved them from more serious consequences. The engine driver told him the slip came down on the side of the locomotive, forcing it off the line, so that the carriages were able to move forward until stopped by the p'.led-up earth.
