CHAMPIONSHIP FIXTURES

PROPOSED EXHIBITION AT THAMES

At the meeting o£ the Auckland Rugby League Board of Control last evening, Mr. J. Rukutai presided in the early stages, pending the arrival of Mr. G. Grey Campbell. . , ,

Considerable discussion took place upon tlie arrangement of the fixtures ior Saturday, owing to the closeness of the top teams. It was decided to hold over the two postponed matches and to continue the final draw, the Mount Albert-Marist match being given pride of place at Carlaw Park. The reserve grade fixture between Devonport and Ponsonby will be played at IDevonport. The secretary, Mr. Ivan Culpan, reported that Carlaw Park had stood up well at tlie week-end to wet weather use. A letter from Newton Rangers in connection with a proposed exhibition match against City Rovers, to be played at Thames at 'the request of residents, was referred to the New Zealand Council fot consideration. The board conferred at length' in committee with a delegation ,from the Referees' Association. Registrations.—M. Proctor and K. ii. Reed, to Newton Rangers. . Transfer. —A. D. Mitchell, subject to reinstatement approval by the New Zea-land-Council, from Richmond to Newton.
