EIGHTY-ONE YEARS.
MR McCIiYMONT'S BIRTHDAY. The Slst birthday of Mr. Geo. McClymont was recently celebrated at his residence, 01, Richmond Road, Ponsonby, the occasion being marked by a gathering of those member's of the family living in Auckland, Mrs. J. Hastie, Mrs. R. Burns, Mrs. D. Morton, Mrs. J. lorns and Mr. Geo. McClymont, jun. Mr. McClymont, who has been in Xew Zealand for 23 years, was born in the little fishing village of Avoch, Ross-shire, Scotland, leaving there as a young man to take up his residence in Blantyre, Lanarkshire, where he married the only daughter of Mr. Chas. Barrie, a wellknown contractor in the vicinity of Glasgow. Mr. and Mrs. McClymont still enjoy pood health, and took part in, and thoroughly enjoyed, the singing of the old Scottish songs which formed the chief part of the evening's entertainment. Besides the members of the family present, other members were Mrs. A. S. and Mrs. G. Fleming (Blantyre. Scotland) and Messrs. D. McClymont (Wanganui) and C. B. McClymont (Masterton). There are 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. On behalf of the assembled members of the family, Mr. Geo. McClymont, jun., presented his father with a gold watch, suitably inscribed.
