LOSS OF £50.
CAFE CASH-BOX TAKEN. VICTORIA STREET THEFT. Between a late hour on Saturday night and 1.30 yesterday morning a cash-box containing between £45 and £50 in notes and silver, also receipts and papers, vanished from the Royal Cafe in Victoria Street. In the cash-box were the takings for the week, and the box disappeared from a shelf under a table in the kitchen, where the proprietor, Mr. J. Urlich, was working. The loss was not discovered until closing time, when the proprietor went to get tlie night's takings <froni the cash register and place them in the cash-box. Mr. Urlich considered that the cash-box was taken when he was working with his back turned to the table. Detectives are investigating.
