The famous Antarctic exploration ship Discovery, known along the whole of the Australian and New Zealand coasts, is for sale. It is now at the East India Dock, London, in charge of the Crown Agents for the Colonies, inviting inspection.

No indication is given of the price. It is going for the best offer, but scientific instruments now on board will be kept by the Government. The buyer will get the ship in seaworthy condition. It is 180 feet long:, weighs 736 tons, travels by sail and 400 h.p. auxiliary engines, and has saloons and laboratories on board. Its speed is eight knots. There are bunks for 18 officers, 15 petty officers, and 14 seamen.
