SECOND TEST.
LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
England v. New Zealand — Match at Carlaw Park.
■The tour of the English Rugby League team, consisting of matches in Australia and New. Zealand,. concludes with the second Test-match against New Zealand at Carlaw-Park this afternoon. .
The visitors have won every match which they have played so far in Sew Zealand, but they were hard pushed in the first Test match against, the Dominion representatives last Saturday, when'the score was 10 —S. In some of the "sections of the play, particularly in the loose, the New Zealand representatives put up a very fine showing, and, with the knowledge they gained of the visitors' methods, it is expected that the matcli -to-day will be very closely contested.
It is said that an English Rugby League team has not yet played on a wet dav in Auckland, despite the fact that the first was played at Victoria Park as far back as 1910/ and-, this is the seventh team to visit the Dominion. There were some fears at an early hour this morning that the weather-luck might change, but theie was. a rising glass throughout the morning, and prospects of a fair day for football. The final appearance of the English team caused wide interest, <and drew many visitors to the city, a large number coming bv an excursion train from the Xortli. The spectators began to gather at Carlaw Park early, and there were, prospects of a large attendance. . The playing area was slightly on the heavy side. The teams -were as follow: —
