THE McGREGOR FUND.
It is noticed tliat about £5000 has been • subscribed for the widow and family of the ate Captain McGregor, and it is now suggested hat provision be made from this money for ;he education of the children. Do the citizens vlto assisted in this worthy cause know that mother brave man, also an aeronaut, lost his ife "in giving- his services to swell the fund? . refer to the late "Scotty" Fraser, of para:hute fame. Kis widow and two children have ost husband and father in the years they are nost needed. What of the widow and her children's future ? Perhaps the widow's pension is sufficient in this case, but it seems ittle recompense for the loss of one, who, to he writer's mind, has materially assisted parachuting in Xew Zealand. Although some >pine parachuting a foolish enterprise, be it :nown that this is necessary in aviation [especially in war time) and' "Scotty" did mich to encourage others in this daring but leccssary achievement.
