MT. EDEN SHUNTING MISHAP
•'HV.O TRAINS DELAYED. - >• When a shunting mishap occurred yesterday • afternoon a short distance from Mount Eden Road bridge, traffic on tho northern railway line was delayed for about half an hour. Drawing a rake of trucks, a locomotive ran off the lino at a siding junction near the point where an engine was derailed last month.
When shunting the trucks from the siding tiie locomotive was travelling in reverse. Tlie back bogey wheels ran off tho track and, althougii tlie engine was quickly brought to a halt, it had travelled sufficiently to block the main line. Under its own power the locomotive was brought back on to the line, which was undamaged, being clear for traffic shortly after 4 o'clock. Two trains were delayed by the mishap.
