WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
ELLERSLIE. The usual monthly meeting of the Ellerslie Institute was held in the Masonic Hall, the vice-president, Mrs. Parsons, taking the chair. There was a fair response on the trading table. Mrs. McElwain gave an address on trees, and also institute work. After afternoon tea had been served, Miss Briar Gardiner gave a demonstration of pottery. A new member was welcomed. Results of competitions were: —Scones, Mrs. Nicholson; jar of flowers, Mrs. McSliane; spray, Mrs. Gill.
WOODHILL. The president, Mrs. Lyons, presided over a good attendance of members at the August meeting. An interesting demonstration of Yugoslavian weaving and embroidery in silk and wool was given by Mrs. Babich, some delightful samples being displayed. The Woodhill group of members entertained with, a charade.
