HIGH AWARD.
BLEDISLOE MEDAL FOR ART.
MISS IDA G. EISE HONOURED.
The Bledisloe Medal, donated by Lord Bledisloe, former Governor-General of New Zealand, for annual presentation for the best painting by a New Zealand artist' of natural New Zealand scenery, was presented to Miss Ida G. Eise at a luncheon gathering of the Auckland Spciety of Arts yesterday iby the president, Mr. C. Reginald Ford.
Lord Bledisloe, Mr. Ford explained, had considered that true New Zealand scenery was not receiving the attention it deserved from the artists of the Dominion, and he had presented the medal to the society for annual award. The picture with which Miss Eise, one of Auckland's leading artists* had won the medal this year was a painting of the Mangaotaki River. It was with the greatest of pleasure, Mr. Ford said, that he presented to her the highest award in the possession of the society.
