SOCCER TITLE.

SENIOR COMPETITION. LEADERS MEET TO-MOHEOW.

PONSONBY V. MOUNT ALBERT GRAMMAR.

With two points to the good, Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys, leaders in the first division senior championship, will meet Ronsonby in the main match at Blandford Park to-morrow afternoon and a rousing game is expected to be the result. Calculations have been several times upset this season in the previous two rounds, and with the start of the third round to-morrow interest has been keyed up to a high pitch. Grammar have wavered somewhat in recent weeks, but in the past have often proved their ability to rise to an occasion, while Ponsonby also have a reputation for achieving the unexpected. Both teams will be at full strength for the match and the outcome is likely to be in doubt till the final whistle. * '

With'a return to the former system of fixtures, a senior championship game will be played as a curtain-raiser and Thistle and Comrades will be the contestants in the early game. Thistle have an old sore to wipe off against Comrades in the shane of a heavy defeat a few weeks ago, whereas Comrades have just managed to remove themselves from the bottom rung of the ladder and no doubt will make desperate efforts to maintain their position. With two such games at headquarters, an interesting afternoon's sport is assured. Shore will be at home to Metro-College at Devonport and cannot afford to take anv liberties with the vigorous colts that will be opposed to them. Positions of teams: — Goals Ch. P. W. Tj. D. F. A.
