ENJOYABLE AT HOME.

VICTORIA LEAGUE ENTERTAINS,

There was a large attendance at the At Homo given by the Victoria League in the Lyceum Club lounjze last evening. The room was gay with masses of hydrangeas and low boxes of daffodils. On arrival the guests were received by the president, Miss J. Mowbray, who wore a. frock of black ring velvet and ecru lace. Assisting her were the following members of the executive: —Mcsdantes J. B. Maefarlane, A. E. Edger, 0. R. Keeble, L. S. Rickerb.v, Miss A. Heath-Slator and Messrs. F. S. Townley Little and W. J. Crowtlier. Speaking on behalf of the president, Mr. Townley Little welcomed the guests and made reference ttf the recent death of Mrs. Kolin, a niember of the league, and of Miss Wallace, Who was an active member of the league some years ago. Sympathy was also expressed with Mrs. P A Lindsay and her daughters in the loss of Dr. Lindsay. All present then stood in silence as a tribute. Mrs. L. S. Riekerby then thanked all those who had helped the league stall at the Winter Show with gifts, and said that the e\'er-ready committee and the sewing circle were each richer by the sum of £35 as a result of the stall. The programme, arranged by Mrs. V. Usher, was a particularly enjoyable one. Two plays were presented, one entitled "A Girl for the Hall," being produced bv Miss Doreen Saunders and presented by Misses Mary Pilkington, P. Cruicksl'iank, R. Chandler, M. Cruicksliank, G. McFlinn, E. Thompson, W. Kent and Mrs. Victor Usher. This play, though pure farce, was very cleverly acted and was heartily applauded. The second play, entitled "The Miracle Merchant, [was acted by Misses Mavis McCulloeh, Mary Pilkinsrton, Valeria Lennard, Mr. Norman Bourne and Mr. Terry AgmenSl Songs were contributed by Mis* Gwenda Weir, violin solos by Miss Ida Lock wood and flute so os by Ml. C. Tucker, accompaniments being played by Mi 1 . PoW. Supper, provided by. members of "tli© league living m Parnell, CitJ» Heme Bay and Ponsonby, was served at the conclusion of the programme.
