DOMINION SCHEME?

QUESTION RAISED IN HOUSE,

(By —Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. At the. request of the Speaker, the Hon. W. E. Barnard, a question was tabled in the House to-day by Mr. E. J. Howard, as to whether" the Government intended to initiate a systematic inquiry into the desirability of adopting a policy of planned immigration for the Dominion. It was stated that if such was the case preparations were necessary to enable the Dominion to absorb new citizens without the intensification of unemployment or other antisocial results. A note attached to the question pointed out that the forthcoming Imperial Conference would probably raise the subject of the more adequate population of the Dominions.
