SOME HOLDING BACK.
INTENDING BUILDERS. HOUSING SCHEME AFFECTED. Auckland builders are still awaiting .further particulars of the Government housing scheme, and of the manner in which it will affect the building industry of the country. At present, said one of them this morning, it looked as though Government is going to undertake a good part of the work itself. If that were the case it would have a serious effect on the building trade. However, it seemed more logical that private contractors would be allowed to share in the scheme, and if this were the case it would accentuate building trade revival to a considerable extent. As yet the only effect of the scheme was that in some instances people who intended building of their own accord weife holding back until such time as the details of the Government scheme became known.
