SCIENCE CONGRESS.
COMMITTEE APPOINTED.
ARRANGEMENTS IN HAND. t Arrangements in connection with the twenty-third congress .of the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science, to be opened in Auckland by his Excellency the Gover-nor-General, Lorcl Galway, on January 12, 1937, are advancing apace. The New Zealand Government is giving official recognition to the congress, and is affording generous support in offering travel concessions to the delegates, and in undertaking the printing of circulars, handbooks, and a report of the proceedings.
The following local executive committee has been set up in Auckland to deal with the arrangements for the conduct of the congress and the proper reception of the visitors, who are expected to number several hundreds from all parts of Australia and New Zealand:—Sir Carrick Robertson (chairman of the local committee), Sir Joseph Smith, Professor H. W. Segar, Mr. T. U. Wells, M.A., Mr. M. R. O'Shea, B.Com. and Mr. A. T. Pycroft. Arrangements for excursions and "° 9 * pitalitv have been placed in the hands o another committee, consisting ° Joseph Smith (chairman), Sir Cecil Ley , Messrs. W. A. Fairclough and F. C., Mappin, and Lady Robertson.
