POTATO EXPORTS.
MONTEVIDEO SHIPMENTS. ► (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TIMAKU, Wednesday. This week the Huntingdon took 1000 tons of potatoes from Timaru for Montevideo and to-day the Raranga loaded a further 300 tons at the same port. The (possibilities of developing'the South American market appear bright, and in order to investigate the position fully a representative is being sent to Montevideo. He will spend two months in South America ascertaining the type of potatoes best suited to the requirements of the market, which, 'if established, will be of great benefit to growers in South 1 Canterbury. .
