The a]ippintmcnts of Mr. Henry J. Kellilier, of Auckland, and Mr. D. 0. Williams, lecturer in economics at the Masscy Agricultural College, Palmerstou North, as Government directors of the Bank of New Zealand, in succession to Sir Harold Bcaitclianip and Mr. Oliver Nicholson, were announced to-day by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash.

Mr. Kelliher is prominent in .Auckland business circles. Mr. Williams has been lecturer at Massey College since 1928, and has published various research papers 011 economic topics.

Mr. D. O. Williams, who is in his 40tli year, went to the war in 1915 with the Machine-gun Corps, and in 1917 won a commission in the field. On his return to the Dominion he entered Victoria University College, where in 1921 he gi-aduated Master of Arts with honours in economics. He became fV'locturi'.r in, and in 1924-25 director of, a commercial college in Wellington, and in 1925 was appointed lecturer in economics at Victoria College. In 1928 he was appointed to the original staff of Massey Agricultural College as lecturer in economics. He lias published various research papers concerning agricultural economics. In 1934 he was a member of tlie Dairy Commission, which made an exhaustive inquiry into the dairying industry.
