SAFE DEPOSIT VAULT.
. INSURANCE PI/AN. At the •annual meeting of shareholders in the New Zealand Insurance Company yesterday the chairman of directors, Sir James Gunson, related that the company had in hand the construction of a safe deposit vault in the basement of their building' in Queen Street, which was designed to achieve the dual purpose of providing a valuable service to the community and enhancing the earning power of the head ollice building. In addition, it should prove of assistance to the operations of the trust department. In America, Canada, and recently in Australia, said the speaker, safe deposits are in general use. They have become essential to many members of the public who have documents and valuables, and no secure place in which to keep them.
