NEW ZEALAND INSTITUTE,
THIRTEENTH ANNUAL REPORT. The thirteenth annual report of the Auckland district council of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture refers to the death of the late Mr. G. A. Green, who was one of the founders of the institute, and one of its most prominent workers. The report adds that the citrus test area at Mount Albert had been well maintained, and that information had been received that the Government intended to establish part of the research station at Auckland. During the year a number of lectures had been given. The annual conference was held at Auckland last March, and in conjunction with the conference the flower show and floral fete were arranged. A sum of £300 was handed to the Crippled Children's Fund.' The executive congratulated Mr. M. J. O'Sullivan on being awarded the Cockayne gold medal, and Professor A. P. W. Thomas on being elected an honorary fellow of the institute.
