FRUIT AND PRODUCE.
COURT FIXES 44-HOUR WEEK. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The Arbitration Court, in a majority judgment, has fixed a 44-hour week for storemen and porters employed by fruit and produce merchants, • deeming it impracticable to eliminate Saturday as a working day. Mr. A. L. Monteitli, employees' assessor, in dissenting, thinks it a very suitable class of business for a 40-hour week.
