King Edward is already familiar with Lady Yule's £250,000 luxury yacht Nahlin, 011 which he is shortly to enjoy a cruise in Dalmatian waters. He visited the Channel Islands on her during a brief cruise last year, when lie was impressed by the comfort of the craft. Although it is not equipped with a swimming bath this was overcome to-day by the erection of a canvas bath on the deck.
The King to-day paid a surprise visit to the Xalilin, states a British official wireless message. He motored to Southampton and, after a thorough inspection, lunched on board the yacht. His Majesty will leave Southampton at noon to-morrow. Plate, stores and bunt.jg have been transferred to the ICaliliu from the Eoval yacht Victoria and Albert.
The crew now is very busy filling up the yacht with stores and fuel. It has a capacity of 400 tons of oil, sufficient for a range of 5000 miles. Captain Doyle, master of the Jvahlin, visited the King at St. James' Palace and discussed final arrangements.
His Majesty is not appointing a Council of State. Accordingly, documents requiring the Royal "signature will be sent to the yacht by King's messengers. However, such documents are fewer when Parliament is not sitting.
The two escorting destroyers will be in radio communication with the Admiralty and the Xalilin's wireless also will maintain touch with London. The crew totals •">[ men. All are Scots except the a"tain.
