MEMORIAL WHEAT.
VIMY GIFT TO CANADIANS. (Received 11 a.m.) PAftlS, July 31. Local peasants are presenting a sack of wheat grown on the plain of Vimy to Canadian Legionaries as a token of gratitude to the Canadians for defending homes in the Artois district. The wheat will be sown at Gaspe, Quebec, whence the first Canadians came to France in 1914, thus creating a memorial field.
