HIS WEEKLY BATH.
SURPRISE COURT SEQUEL. Mr. Charles E. Parker, of Chicago, will have cause to remember his impulse for a "Saturday night bath." It led him into a Court action brought by Mr. Michael Farber, for £5000 for damages for the alienation of his wife's affections. Mr. Parker, who is 05, told the judge how it was he came to bo in the Farber family "bath-tub" —with Mrs. Farber scrubbing his back. "We were having a party," he related, "and about midnight I got to feeling pretty good. As it was Saturday night I said I would take a bath. After I got soaped up a bit I found I could not reach my shoulders, so I hollered out, 'Will someone come and wash my back?' 'I will,' Mrs. Farber shouted back. She came in with the others, and scrubbed me. That's all —except that Mr. Farber walked in before it was finished." The Court assessed damages at £50 a 6 a warning to those who "at 05 may be inclined to look for thrills in life." This decision was reached after Mr. Farber's counsel had described the c:tse as "the American tragedy—striking at the very foundations of sceietv"
