MARRIAGES AND BIRTHS
JULY VITAL STATISTICS. Vital statistics for the month ended yesterday, show that there were 102 marriages solemnised in Auckland, and 207 births. This is tjie first time this year that the monthly total of marriages lias fallen below the figure for July of 1935, when there were -105 marriages. However, the total number of marriages for the seven months of this year came to 1518, compared with 1291 for the | same period of 1935. ! Last month the registrar joined 42 j couples in marriage, against 44 for July, [ 1935, while the total of 340 for the j s£ven months' period eontiares with 200. : Fewer births were registered in Auckland last month, there being 207, compared with 210 in July, 1935. For the first seven months there were 1541, com - , pared with 1414.
The deaths in July were 208, compared with 192 in tho corresponding month j last year. The total for the seven months of this year is 1109, there being 1073 for the seven months of 1925.
