CIVIL ENGINEERS.
The quarterly meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Society of Civil Engineers was held in the school of engineering of the Auckland University College last evening. Mr. Jas. Tyler presided. There was a large attendance of members. After routine business, Mr. A. J. Dickson, assistant city engineer, read a paper entitled "Some Observations on Structural Design in Buildings." An interesting discussion ensued.
