LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
JUNIOR BOARD AFFAIRS. At the meeting of the junior management committee of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, Mr. D. Wilkie presiding, a delegate raised tho desirability of postponing junior fixtures on Saturday, but opinion was divided oil the subject, some clubs expressing satisfaction that consideration was toeing given to postponement for both Test matches, or at least one Test. The chairman said the board was endea-j vouring to iput all matches on as early as possible, but the need for completing] grade competitions had to be considered. Owing to the favourable progress of the second grade, Saturday's matches were postponed. It was decided that junior fixtures be suspended for the two Test dates (August 8 and 15), with the exception of the third grade, in which the position will be reviewed in ample time. The R.V. third grade team, which is responding to an invitation to visit Wliangarei on Saturday, applied for a donation towards transport expense. The application was referred to the Auckland League, with an unfavourable recommendation. ' It was reported that tho Glenora seventh grade team fielded short on Saturday, and was compelled to default, as the result of players assuming- matches were off. It was decided to advise the Newton third A tetim, which contemplated a game with South Auckland juniors on Saturday, that it did not have the bye as it anticipated. . - , <-.i i The re-play application of Otahuhu Club, which advised that the referee called oft the third grade contest between Otahuhu and Marists 15 minutes short owing to darkness, was granted. The result was G all. , A third grade player for misconduct on the field was suspended for a playing Saturday, and another player was severely transfer of R. J. and S. Hobbs, with clearances from Richmond seconds, to Xcwton Reserves, were approved, subject to senior board confirmation. Tho re-grade to thirds ot Greenwood, reverting from Devonport semofs -to Otahuhu, was refused.

RAY BROWN FOR ENGLAND.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCII, Tuesday. The Canterbury Rugby representative centre three-quarter and wing three-quarter. Ray Brown, has accepted a contract to plaj League football in England next season. Brown is a member of the Sydenham Club.
