LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
WAITANGI SHIELD. NORTHLAND V. AUCKLAND. TO-MORROW'S CARLAW PARK GAME. The North Auckland Maori League representatives have challenged Auckland for the Waitangi Shield, and the match will be played at Carlaw Park to-morrow afternoon, at 3 o'clock. The shield was made by Mr. Harold Walmsley, a well-known League football and swimming enthusiast, and originally presented by him to Hawke's Bay. Taranaki then captured it, and since Auckland lifted it from the former the "Tamaki's" have stalled off several i challenges during the last few years. I The teams are:— I Northland.—Full-back, D. Paki; three-1 quarters, P. Mackie, T. Toki, D. Mackie; ! live-eighths, W. I'fesher, B. i'itman; lialf-j back, S. Pitman; forwards, R. Jones, H. 1 Piriki, R. Kepaf W. Tauri, J. Gough, W. Rata. Reserves: C. Joal, J. Pitman. Auckland. —Full-back, Hemi; threequarters, Mason, Tawhai, L. Brown; fiveeighths, Rata, Bickerton; half-back, Ala liini a; forwards, Kawe, l'roctor, Nathan, Wliyc, Raymond, Watene. Reserves: Murray, Broughton, Aro, Newton.
