WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Strong winds to gales, from between south-west and south. Weather cold, changeable and equally, with passing heavy showers and, in places, hail, but a gradual improvement commencing tomorrow. Seas high on the . west coast and rough on the east. A depression is passing supidly off the Dominion, but an anti-cyclone is approaching from the Tasman Sea. For the Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for south-westerly winds, strong to gale, later decreasing. The weather will probably prove changeable and squally, with heavy showers, and cold. Barometer rising. Seas rough to high. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: — | Wind, west, south-west, strong to gale; ! sea rough; weather squally, with I showers; visibility poor; barometer un--1 steady.
