SOCIAL WELFARE CLUB

The German Club rooms on Wednesday eveninjr were the scene of a successful social and dance promoted by the Hugh Wright, Ltd., Social and Welfare Club. In welcoming, the guests, the president. Mr. Bidwell, outlined some of the activities of the club and mentioned that although this was the first social held the members had taken prominent parts in sport and musical competitions, while the annual picnic was always a popular occasion. From its inception nine years ago the club had been very active in the weltare section, which entitled members to halt nav during absence for sickness tor a period of twelve weeks. In clcsinf his remarks, Mr. Bidwell introduced Miss Phillips (vice-president), who received a handsome bouquet.
