FAILURE TO ACCOUNT.
MAN GIVEN PROBATION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) OAMARU, this day. Leslie Francis William Bolton appeared before Mr. H. W. Bundle, S.M., at the Oamaru Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon on four charges of having received sums from £1 to £1 8/ on terms requiring him to account for and pay the money to the Mutual Life and Citizens' Assurance Company, and fraudulently omitting to do so. thereby committing theft. The police stated that various small sums were involved. Mr. Bundle refused counsel's request foi suppression of name, accused bein< T convicted and admitted to eighteen ? S P ro ' )a tion. Restitution of £17 9/10 is to be .made as directed by the probation officer.
