SOCIAL AT KUMEU.

A social everting was held in the Kuineu Half to welcome, the new vicar of St. Chad's Anglican Church at Huapai. There was a representative gathering of members and friends, who enjoyed a programme of songs, musical and other items" including two one-act plays—the first, "In the. Park'," written by Mrs. Geo. Field and acted by Mrs. Field and Mrs. Roy Murray, and the second, "The Wrong Number," acted by Mrs. I. Owtrain and Mrs. D. Lyons, The assisting artists were Miss Norton, Mrs. J. Davey, Mrs. R. Murray, Miss D. Hoare, Messrs. Lock wood, Malins, Currie, E. D. Forrester and E, Lambert. During the evening Mrs. W. Malins, on behalf of the parishioners, extended a hearty welcome to the vicar, the Rev. Parsons, and Mrs. Parson*. The ladies' committee served ft dainty supper, and music for dancing was supplied by Mrs. Harrison and Mrs. J. Davey. Among thrtse present were: Mesdames Parsons, Owtrain, Malins, J. A. G. Wilson, W.
