VALUE OF CQ-OPERATION.
LESSON FROM AUSTRALIA,

DUNEDIN, Wednesday
"In Australia slioep breeders are working in co-operation, but in New Zealand tliey are working individually," said Mr. J. E. Hewitt at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Romney Marsh Sheep Breeders' Association today. "We must wake up here if we are going to retain our supremacy in the fat lamb market of the world."
In New South Wales, he said, 13 men were employed in giving instructions to farmers and Australia was confident that it could equal the New Zealand standard and possibly pass it. J.he champion rains at Sydney Show this Tear had been good enough to go anywhere. New Zealand breeders maintained that they were not going to be interfered with by anyone, but in Australia breeders were working together. "Let me tell you," he concluded, "that if you do not do something about it the Government is going to do it for vou."
