EDUCATION BOARD.
NOMINATORS FOR SEATS,
Nominations of candidates for seven seats on the Auckland Education Board, which closed yesterday, exceed the number of vacancies and an election will be conducted by postal ballot closing on July 15. Each member of a school committee in an urban area or rural ward has as many votes as there are vacancies in his district. Nominations are:—
Auckland urban area: Messrs. G. Brownlee, C. R. Munro and T. U. Wells (sitting members), W. H. Fortune, C. S. Morris and A. Roberts (three vacancies). Hamilton urban area: Mr. F. A. Snell (sitting member), (one vacancy). North ward: Messrs. W. A. Bishop, G. S. B. Morrison, John Morrison and F. B. Rowe (one vacancy). East ward: The Hon. A. Burns (sitting member) and Mr. C. M. Speedy (one vacancy). West ward: Mr. J. Primrose (sitting member) and Sir. J. Patterson (one vacancy). The north ward, which has yet to be filled, was held by the late Mr. R. Hoe. His death was so close to the end of his term that it was thought unnecessary to hold a, by-election.
