MANUKAU BY-ELECTION.
ANOTHER CANDIDATE IN FIELD ? The statement has been made at Otahuhu that Mr. G. O'Connell, of Otahuhu, will content the Manukau seat at the coming by-election caused by Mr. Jordan's appointment as High Commissioner. Wheii questioned by the "Star" representative, Mr. O'Connell declined to deny or confirm the rumour. Questioned as to which party he would pledge his support, he was reticent and declared that actions and principles are much greater than party consideration?; ,
Mr. O'Connell, who is the officer in charge of 7 the Otahuhu Employment Bureau, lias lived in Otahuhu practically all his life, and is well known throughout the province' as an able political organiser.
