PRESENTATIONS.
HIGHWAYS BOARD INSPECTOR L Presentations were made to Mr. J. N". Scott at the end of last week. Mr. Scott, who is a well-known member of ; the Auckland city traffic department, has been appointed a Main Highways Board inspector, with headquarters at Te Ivuiti. Joining the city traffic staff 1 14 years ago he has been testing officer ' and taxi-cab inspector for a number of 3 years. On behalf of the Municipal • Officers' Social Club, the town clerk, Mr. ' J. S. Brigham, presented Mr. Scott with r crystal ware. He expressed regret at 1 Mr. Scott's decision to resign and con- • gratulated him on securing a more - important position. Others who spoks were Mr. C. Bland, superintendent of - traffic, and Mr. J. MacDougall, senior • traffic officer. Mr. Scott received a i canteen of cutlery from the traffic : department. The taxi-drivers of Aucki la yd also made a presentation.
