FURTHER TRIAL.
INLAND AIR MAIL SERVICE. THREE MONTHS' PERIOD. • (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. Although it lias proved disappointing to the authorities during its three months' experimental period, the inland air mail service is to be given a further trial. " I lie question was considered by the Cabinet yesterday." said the Postmaster - General. Hon. F. Jones, yesterday, "and i* been decided to continue the service for an additional three months as from May 31. There will be no change in tin? conditions, and it is hoped that file further trial will bring about more substantial support of the service." The latest figures show that business has improved during Ihe past' month. During that period the weekly total of letters carried bv air was over 13,000, with a marked tendency toward stability. However, even the best week's return—l4,ooo letters weighing 5421b—was still far below the initial expectation of business.
