WEATHER FORECAST.

FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:—

Moderate northerly winds, gradually freshening. Weather fine and mild, but later becoming unsettled and cloudy, with rain developing. Seas slight to moderate. An anti-cyclone still covers the North Island, hut is moving elowly eastwards, and a depression lies ,in a north to south direction over the Tasman Sea. For the Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate northerly winds and later freshening. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, with mild and hazy conditions. Later the weather will appear to be cloudy and unsettled, with rain following. The barometer has a falling tendency. Sea smooth to moderate. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: — Wind, light and variable; sea calm; weather fine, but cloudy and hazy; visibility good; barometer steady.
