DOCTOR MUST WAIT.
MR. W. M. HUGHES' INJURY. BRISBANE, Juno 12. After being injured in a forced aeroplane landing 47 miles from Brisbane, the Minister of Health and former Prime Minister, Mr. W. M. Hughes, who is now 71 years old, insisted upon eating a three-course meal and reading a newspaper before allowing the doctor to attend to his fractured collarbone. His condition is satisfactory. "If I had been a betting man I would cheerfully have given odds at 50 to 1 against our getting down safely," he observed in an interview.
