The rain fall over ail area ot several acrcv.. covering the ground with big red spots. Xri explanation of this phenomenon has yet been put forward and the superstitious villagers fear it foretells calamity.
A new spring fashion for men was shown at the Tailors' monthly dinner at New York. The smart man w to wear coloured linen waistcoats with lus single-breasted suits this spring and summer. This fashion has been approved by the society's style committee and tailor® express themselves as very gratified witn it because it is in line with the new tendency towards brighter colours in mens clothes. A pale blue linen waistcoat, to instance, will be considered the pi'or e J thing to wear with a dark blue tan linen waistcoat with brown or i- '• green suits.
