! GERMANY GETS READY. The preparations being made in Berlin I for the Olympic \ Games in August next I were described yesterday by Mrs. L. G. ! Brundahl, of Sydney, who arrived by the Mariposa 011 her way home after an extended visit to Germany. 1 The visitor said that the stadium, which was being built on the outskirts of Berlin, was very elaborate, and would hold 100,000 spectators, all of whom would have 'an unobstructed view of the arena. Adjacent grounds had been laid out for a ! multiplicity of Rports, and in the development scheme elaboration and ornamenta- . tion played an impornnt part. One feature was a beautiful artificial lake.

Mrs. Brundahl said that spccial arrangements had been made to house the visitine athletes in an attractively laid ont village of small houses. Provision li«d been made for 37 dining rooms and 37 kitchens, so that the various athletes could have the food they were used to, specially prepared. Adjacent to the village was a training track, with the oval a renlica of the one at the stadium. Mrs. Brundahl said the Germans, with their usual thoroughness, were making extraordinary preparations for the games, and a great welcome was promised all the visitine athletes. The experience of past Olympic Games had been fully drawn upon, and it was hoped to stage the great pending fixture in a perfect way.
