Dolling, aged 49, an Australian cricket selector and a prominent member of the medical profession. He suffered a seizure in liis surgery and died about an hour later. Many Aucklanders remember with pleasure a line innings of 104 played by Dr. Dolling in the second Test with the Australians here at the end of March, 1914. He and E. L. Waddy (140) added 193 for the second wicket, the latter playing a stylish innings and Dr. Dolling one full of life, though somewhat slower than Waddy's. What a great side the Australians were! The other men batting at Auckland when they declared at 610 for six wickets were; PI.'L. Collins (19), M. A. Noble (1), Victor Trumper (lbw, b N. C. Sneddon, 81), W. W. Armstrong (134 not out) and the bespectacled former English lest plaver J..N. Crawford (134 in fast time). New Zealand, who went in first, scored 2:>9 (the late Ned Sale 109 not out, W. Brook Smith 46) and 228 (L.G. McMahon, Poverty Bay, 6S, Snedden Oil. Australia won by an innings and 113 runs.
