LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
CITY BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the City branch of the League of. Mothers wa?held this week in the Airedale Street Mission Hall. Mrs. Cyril Tewsley, president, occupied the chair. Miss Bennet, general secretary of the Y.W.C.A., spoke of her visits to Y.W.C.A. centres throughout the world and gave her impressions of women of different nationalities. Songs by .Miss Phyllis Renner and pianoforte solos by Miss Ailsa Hutchinson were greatly appreciated.
KOHIMARAIftA. The annual fathers' evening of the Koliimarama branch of the League of Mothers was held in the Presbyterian Church this week, the occasion being the e third birthday of the branch. The church had been artistically decorated with bowls of Iceland poppies and asparagus fern by Mesdames Lediard and Teil Rowe. The usual devotions were led by the president, Mrs. T. S. Littlejohn. Rev. C. E. Perkins gave the thought for the month and Rev. Ings spoke on "A Wise Son Maketli a Glad Father." An excellent musical programme was given by the following artists: —Mr. Warburton (humour), Mesdames Le Petit, Dollar and Keppell and Messrs. Dolla.r and Spicer (vocal solos), Miss Barton and Mr. Fraser (sketch). A basket of handkerchiefs, arranged to represent roses, was given by Mrs. Parker to the president as a token of esteem from the members of the branch. A bouquet was also given to the secretary, Mrs. Ernest Eady, who was unfortunately absent.
