CITY FINANCES.
REVIEW BY MAYOR. PRESENTATION TO COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING CALLED. A review of the city finances will b& presented, by the Mayor, 'Mr. Ernest Davis, at a special meeting of the Auckland' City Council oil Monday evening. The review is of a very extensive nature, and it is understood that it will deal with various phases of civic administration, the work of the different departments, and the financial position as a whole. In referring to the review at the last meeting of the Auckland City Council, Mr. Davis said that in accordance with a promise made in his last annual report lie proposed to present a statement giving the viewpoint of a .business man on the affairs of the city. He ventured the opinion that it would be interesting, and suggested that if the councillors had'any friends who followed the affairs [of the city closely that they should ! invite them to be present at the special meeting.
