PILOT'S ESCAPE.
AEROPLANE STRIKES BANK. Auckland club's machine. The Moth machine ZK-AAU, owned jby the Auckland Aero Chib, struck a j low bank while landing at the Mangere j aerodrome at mid-day yesterday and overturned. The pilot, Mr. W. Badliam, and his passenger escaped uninjured, but the 'plane suffered a broken propeller, a damaged undercarriage and slightly crumpled wings. I Parts of the landing ground are at 'present in a very rough condition where it is being levelled and cleared by relief 'workers. The bank was a low one, and was not seen by the pilot until it was 1 too late to avoid it.
