AUSTRALIAN CLIP. ESTIMATE FOR SEASOX. (Received 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. At a joint conference of the Australian Wool-selling Brokers' - Council and tne Australian >Voolgi;owcr»'. Council, a statement was. read estimating that the A lls " tralian wool clip for 103C-3/ wou£ be 3,030,000 bales, compared with 3,140,000 tor 1034-35. , . The average bale.'in the new season s clip would bo 3051b, compared with 3081b. it is estimated , that 18 . per celjt of the new clip will consist of crossbred'and and strong wool breeds, the remainder being Merino. It is expected. ' that 2,760,000 bales will be received through brokers' stores all over the Commonwealth. The selling season will open in Sydnev on August 31. Not more. than 1,420,000 bales will be • ottered oefore Christmas. LOWER AT ADELAIDE. ABSENCE OF JAPANESE. ADELAIDE, June 11. The prices of all good quality fleece at the Adelaide wool sales to-day were from 5 to 7% per cent lower than the February levels, and inferior lots dropped 10 per cent. The lack of Japanese competition was not responsible fox* the fall of the bettei types, which at times enjoyed keen competition, but their absence was .noticeable in the sale of inferior lots, which Japan usually buys in large quantities.
