RICCARTON TRACK.

THE DUNEDIN MEETING. J. S. SHAW'S TEAM. (By Telegraph.—-Special to " Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Courtyard jumped two of the schooling •hurdles at liiccarton this morning, travelling at a fast pace high. Speed was sent over five steeplechase fences, giving a good display. "The four schooling hurdles on the Riecarton course are being shifted to newground, though on the same circuit, to provide a better take off, as the approach to the obstacles had become very much worn.

Royal Limond's injured knee did not look well when he arrived home after his long journey from Auckland, but a few hours in the paddock made a great improvement. He moved freely enough this morning, and if he continued to go on well it is probable that he will be racing at the Dunedin meeting. The Wellington sportsman Mr. D. Levin, who was in hospital recently undergoing an operation, is now convalescent, and he is having a fortnight's rest at Ric'e/irton with J. S. Shaw, who has his two horses Pahu and Dollar Bill racing well at present. J. C. Tomkinson will be guided by the weather prospects in his programme for Impossible. She will be an acceptor for the first day of the Dunedin meeting, and probably she will go south' if there are indications of a soft track.

Two new horses, Yojtic and React, put in an appearance at Riccarton this morning under the care of their owner, Mr. Burbury, who has been working them on his property at Sherwood. Voltic is : a six-year-old by Orange Jersey (son of Nassau), and React is a four-year-old by Rapier. Neither of them has done any racing, but they are to be nominated for the Oamaru meeting. J. S. Shaw has nominated several liorses for the Diinedin meeting, but the constitution of his team may depend on the weather. Some of them will require soft groiind to provide favourable racing conditions. Sea Fox returned from Auckland, looking in good order. He is one horse that will benefit from a fall of rain.
