A motion directed at establishing Sunday play was defeated by a substantial majority at tile 'annual meeting of the Whitiora Bowling Club last night. The president, Mr. D. G. Andrews, presided. The report stated that the breaking of a long association with the croquet club was a feature of the year's activities. Reference was made to grounds ments and the membership, which was slightly weaker. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr. W. F. Mason; president, Mr. F. W. Woodhall; vice-president, Mr. A.
